Intended Use

Provides minimum 90 minutes of illumination for rated wattage upon loss of AC power. Unique design for heavy and demanding industrial applications such as manufacturing plants, refinieries, chemical plants, wastewater treatment facilities, food-processing facilities, breweries, loading docks and other applications subject to hosedown or industrial conditions.  Superior-performance lamp heads are ideally suited for higher mounted heights.  Perfect for pole and column mounting.


U.S. Patent No. - D505,222; 6,135,624 - Design patent.  Rugged, heavy-duty polycarbonate housing is sealed, gasketed and corrosion-resistant.

Vertical orientation - designed especially for pole or column mounting.  Also suitable for wall and I-beam mounting.

Easy-mount installation with one epoxy-coated galvanized, 12-gauge steel mounting bracket shipped standard.  Conduit entry points are located on both sides of the unit.  Maintenance is made easy by tool-less re-lamp, single tool entry, hinging front cover, printed circuit board, mounting shelf and battery belt.

Full range of lamp options - 9W to 50W in sealed-beam or composite.  Standard lamp is 9W krypton. US Patent No. 6,193,395



Battery: Sealed, maintenance-free, lead-calcium battery with capacity for 90 minutes of emergency operation. Low-voltage disconnect prevents excessively deep discharge that can permanently damage battery.

Dual voltage input capacity (120/277V).

Brownout protection is standard feature. AC/LVD reset prevents battery damage from deep discharge. Current limiting charger. Thermal protection prevents overheating and charger failure. Thermal compensation provides optimum charge voltage relative to ambient temperature.

Diagnostics: (US Patent No. 6,502,044). Single multi-color LED indicator displays two-state charging, test activation and three-state diagnostic status. Test switch provides manual activation of 30-second diagnostic testing for on-demand visual inspection. Self-diagnostic testing for five minutes every 30 days and 90 minutes annually. Diagnostic evaluation of LED light source, AC to DC transfer, charging and battery condition. Continuously monitors AC functionality. Load-learning capability self-calibrates to DC load at first test, enabling it to detect a lamp failure on future tests. It may be recalibrated at any time by holding down the test switch for 15 seconds.

Wireless Reporting System: Data from self-diagnostics will be communicated via wireless transceivers within their vicinity, creating a self-configuring, self-healing, and self-optimizing wireless network that exchanges the data between FIDO compatible emergency lighting fixtures on an even-driven basis. Wireless communications electronics to operate 2.4GHz mesh network are enclosed entirely within the fixture. Must be used with FIDO edge router.


Radio range is 500' between fixtures in most buildings. Actual performance may vary depending on application environment and electromagnetic interference. Substantially longer distances have been recorded in uninterrupted open air. Consult factory for more details.


UL damp location listed (standard). Meets UL924, UL50, NFPA 101 (current Life Safety Code), NFPA 70-NEC and OSHA illumination standards. Wet, NEMA 4, 4X rated.  IP66 and NSF Listed.  Meets all applicable FCC requirements
